It'll last for quite a while. Good overall.
You can remove the 250 GB SSD and optical drive if you want, then it's down on 1200 USD.

What are you using it for mostly, not point in putting tons of money for a performance computer to never use all of its power. Unless of course you want bragging rights.
@samm3 Your build is a top notch Gaming pc, in which i agree for most of the part selection. i think it could be cheaper in some other ways than removing parts, such as PSU doesnt really need to be 750 for that build you can get away with a 600W, and go with Bronze instead of gold. Bronze silver and gold is just a marketing sceme that sucks peoples money, you can get a 600 bronze 80 for 80$ save good amount right there and get a normal cd burner unless blue ray is a at must.

Uh well I was looking for a specific PSU but couldn't find it. My point is that you should nearly always get a good quality PSU with Japanese capacitors. I use a Cooler Master V700 with 700W, expensive for the amount of watt but great and secure.
Seasonic usually makes good PSU's and I didn't bother looking up the best of the best of the best. If he now really lacks money he can buy a cheaper PSU but might experience issues later. In my opinion it's way better to invest a little bit when you buy a new computer instead of shortening down too much. The computers performance will last way longer compared to a cheaper one. The GPU is normal and not overpriced, the CPU is a quality one that is secured for the future, the SSD really improves usage of the computer, a few bucks extra for the 2TB, 2x8GB RAM for the dual channeling etc...

It's not a top notch Gaming PC in my opinion but sure does perform well. He could get a FX 8350 but personally I don't like AMD CPU's. One thing for sure is that he won't have to invest in a new computer for a long while

EDIT: @Gangsted I didn't see that I picked a Blu-ray optical drive huh... I'm not used to shopping with $. I made a new build that's cheaper. It's a perfect computer, nothing is way to expensive and I still last on my point about the PSU. One thing that he could pick away is either the SSD or the chassi, which I strongly don't recommend. An SSD is one of my best purchases to the computer and the chassi is really good looking and silent, one of the most popular, if not the most popular, out there on the market.

@samm3 I wasnt trying to bash your knowledge in building, but that pc i know for a fact will last more than 3 years with any game on the market right now. Also Dual channel ram is important now, and i would never put money into AMD anything. If you want cheap parts that will break follow that route, but intel nvidia all the way.

I can remember buying my first SSD in 2010, 60gb for 130$, my pc ran 10x faster on startup, well worth it, now i have a 1tb SSD and, Cant even fill it up as it only hold programs and data is sent to HHD.

Hehe, I didn't think that you was bashing me. I might have sounded a little bit too serious writing that response lol Indeed, personally I don't like AMD at all but I did buy Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce OC and it hasn't failed me so far
